Anonymous website activity
We may record page views, button clicks, form starts, referring page, campaign tags, device category, and general city or region. A random browser and session identifier helps us understand a visit without collecting a name, email address, phone number, utility bill, or full IP address in website analytics.
Information you submit
When you submit Build My Solar Plan or contact Sonoma Energy, we use the details you provide—including contact information, project answers, and an uploaded utility bill—to review your request and follow up. Submission details may be delivered to Sonoma Energy’s business email and customer-management system.
Text-message information
We collect promotional SMS consent and informational SMS consent through two separate, optional checkboxes, both unchecked by default. The promotional checkbox covers solar and battery offers and referral promotions. The informational checkbox covers your inquiry, appointments, project updates, and customer service. We send each type of message only with the corresponding consent; accepting one does not enroll you in the other. We record each choice separately with the submission time and consent-form version. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Consent is not a condition of purchase. You may reply STOP to opt out or HELP for help.
Mobile opt-in information and consent records are not sold, rented, or shared with third parties or affiliates for their own marketing or promotional purposes. We may share information with service providers that help us deliver messages, operate our customer-management system, or comply with law, solely for those purposes.
Attribution
If you submit a request, we may associate the anonymous visit history and original campaign source with that lead so we can understand how you found Sonoma Energy and improve the website.
Data security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information from unauthorized access, loss, misuse, alteration, or disclosure. No method of electronic storage or transmission is completely secure, so absolute security cannot be guaranteed.
Your choices
You can browse without submitting personal information. You may also clear browser storage to reset the anonymous identifier used on your device. Do not submit sensitive information that is not needed for a solar review; utility account numbers may be redacted. For text messages, reply STOP to unsubscribe or contact us using the information below.
